Following the untimely collapse of his company on the day of his father's wake, Joe Davis, a middle aged father of one, is left facing bankruptcy and social ruin. His dynamic mother, Molly, makes him an offer he can't refuse. "You're broke. I'm bored, come live with me". Reluctantly, Joe moves in with his eccentric parent and quickly realises that life as he knew it is over. Joe teams up with Molly to win back his teenage daughter's affection after years as an absentee father. Together, the three of them embark on an adventure that includes high-stakes poker, go-karting and a life-changing road trip to the Twelve Apostles. Their time together allows Joe to witness a side of his mother he never knew - the woman she was before she became a mother begins to return, and together they learn how to win back the heart of his daughter, Charlie.
